Preemie Cap to Crochet

Pattern - Good basic Preemie Cap to make.

MATERIALS: 1 ball Zarina print 4 ply  (this should make 3 caps)  

3 mm hook

SIZE: to fit an orange, 25 cm (10") head.

Height of hat 10 cm (3 1/2 - 4 ")

INSTRUCTIONS:

Make 5 ch, join with a sl st into the first ch to form a circle.

ROUND 1: 3 ch (acts as a tr), 15 tr into the circle. [16 sts]

Join this and all treble rounds by slip stitching into the top of

the first 3 ch worked.

ROUND 2: 3 ch, 1 tr in the same place as the 3 ch, 1 tr in the

next st, *2 tr in the next st, 1 tr in the next st.

Repeat from * to end.  Join [24 sts]

ROUND 3: 3 ch, 1 tr in the same place as the 3 ch, 1 tr in

each of the next 2 sts, *2 tr in the next st,

1 tr in each of the next 2 sts.  Repeat from * to end.  Join [32 sts]

ROUND 4: 3 ch, 1 tr in the same place as the 3 ch, 1 tr in each of the next 3 sts, *2 tr in the

next st, 1 tr in each of the next 3 sts.  Repeat from * to end.  Join [40 sts]

ROUND 5: 3 ch, 1 tr in the same place as the 3 ch, 1 tr in each of the next 4 sts.

Repeat from * to end.Join [48 sts]

ROUND 6 - ROUND 12:  3 ch, 1 tr in each st to end.

ROUND 13: 1 sl st in the front loop only of each st to end.  End off.
